Dear Pam,

Already I’m stumped. Should I use a colon: “Dear Pam:” business letter style? Or a comma: “Dear Pam,” friend style. As you can see, I chose the latter.

That is not to say you’ve been anything less than a consummate professional. This is my quirky way of saying, “Thank you” for being our Sherpa as we explored and discovered our new neighborhood and home.

Today we’re celebrating our one-week anniversary in our Parkland Isles haven/heaven. I want you to know how much we all appreciated what you did and how you did it. From our first meeting in Starbucks (Hillsboro and 441!), I knew we were going to be just fine. You came on time. You came prepared. You came with a ready smile and a great plan of attack.

We literally covered a lot of ground together that day and on every subsequent outing, including the day we tackled a dozen homes in about three hours. All these BMW door mishaps, dopey street numbers and U-turns later, here I sit in my new family room, amid numerous packing boxes, happy as can be.

I don’t think there are too many Realtors out there who could have helped us through this transition so painlessly — even joyfully. We both recognized when we landed in my new home. It was that very same first day, March 30, the day that started in Starbucks. We looked at the house and we looked at each other. And we knew. This was it. You stayed with it. Stayed on top of the MLS listings. Kept us posted. And kept positive.    

Through it all, it was a pleasure working with you and getting to know you. From the bottom of my heart and the top of my pretty tile roof, thank you for all your help and yes, friendship.

After moving to Florida from Maryland over a year ago my family and I began looking for a home to purchase.  We spent hundreds if not thousands of hours on the internet and driving around the Boca Raton area searching for the home of our future.  My wife, Aiya and me talked to numerous Realtors and became frustrated at the lack of consideration for our wants and desires.  We became so disheartened with the process that we almost stopped looking and continue to rent. 

We found a home on the internet that had just been listed a few hours earlier; I called the listing agent to schedule a showing.  That is when we were introduced to Pamela Thomes (Pam) of Keller Williams Realty of Boca Raton.  She showed the home to us and gave us all the answers to all our questions; she was very respectful and professional.  Over the next few weeks and many many emails and phone calls, we decided to put an offer on the house, Pam drafted up the bid paperwork and we scheduled a time to sign.  At the last minute my wife and I decided to not go through with the offer and called Pam to let her know.  We expected a negative response as almost anyone would have but it was totally the opposite.  Pam let us know that she understand our concerns and would be happy to help us continue our search.  She really made us feel like a friend and not just a client or paycheck.
